Privacy Policy

This policy covers cuevaluation.com and its review submission, catalog browsing, and account features. It does not cover any other site, including the official University of Chittagong website or any page you reach through an outbound “Official CU profile” link.

To sign in and submit a review, you use your university-issued student email address ending in @std.cu.ac.bd. We do not accept any other email domain, and we do not ask for or store your student ID, name, or any other identifying document.

We keep a private account record tied to your email so we can confirm you are eligible to submit reviews and so a separate record can block you from reviewing the same teacher twice. That account record is not shown to other students or to ordinary moderators.

When you submit a review, we store your ratings and written comment. The review record itself does not contain your email, name, student ID, or account identifier — there is no column in that table that could hold your identity.

Your review and your account are kept in two separate places. One private record links your account to the teachers you have already reviewed, purely to enforce the one-review-per-teacher rule. A different record holds the review content itself. Reading the review content alone does not reveal who wrote it.

Reviews are queued for moderation before anything is decided about them. The moderation view is built to show review content without showing your account details.

This is an application-level protection, not an absolute guarantee. Someone with direct, privileged database access (for example, project administrators) is outside this boundary and could in principle correlate records. We do not grant that level of access to ordinary moderators, and we do not build features that hand student identity to the review-moderation interface.

Submitted reviews are held for moderation. We are still building the feature that shows reviews to other students; at this time, ratings and comments are collected and moderated but are not yet displayed anywhere on the public catalog. When that feature ships, published reviews will still carry no author information.

Faculty, academic unit, and teacher directory information (names, designations, and official CU profile links) comes from publicly available University of Chittagong sources. Where we cache a teacher’s photo, it is sourced from an official CU page and stored so pages load reliably; we do not collect or publish any other image.

The underlying source records we use to build and correct that directory are kept private and are not readable by students, moderators, or the public.

We send one-time sign-in links to your university email through a transactional email provider. That provider sees your email address only to deliver the message and is not used for any other purpose, such as marketing.

Signing in sets a session cookie so you stay authenticated between pages. We do not currently run any third-party analytics or advertising tracking on this site.

We have not yet published a specific retention schedule or a self-service way to delete your account or review history. If you have a request about your data, use the contact details below; we cannot promise a specific outcome or timeline until that process is formally established.

We may update this policy as the product changes, including when we add features like published reviews or a formal retention schedule. We have not yet set a version history or effective-date process for this page; treat the version you are reading as the current one.
